Marlin Stutzman United States Senate
Why Marlin Stutzman United States is Running for Senate

People

Indiana is blessed with the hardest working men and women you will find in America. Whether it’s the auto worker in Marion, the Farmer in Gibson County, or the tech company in New Albany every corner of our state is graced with an example of ingenuity and promise that comes with folks who understand the inherent feeling of self worth that comes from hard work. These values of taking pride in one’s job and making a good life for one’s family are the cornerstone of the American dream and the key to our free market. Today, those free market principles are under attack like never before. The Politicians in Washington and the bankers on Wall Street seem focused more on the next quarter than the next quarter century. While our business and political leaders continue to print money and engage in political gamesmanship we see unemployment skyrocketing and America losing her standing in the world. I believe we have seen enough. It’s time to send everyday working people into public service. There is something wrong when a person who has never had meaningful employment outside of public service is able to become a millionaire while every other sector of the economy suffers. People in Indiana need an authentic voice. We need a leader who understands that government carries more than a monetary cost; there is a human cost to every decision our Senator makes. I am committed to pushing back our government from any place it increases cost and limits our personal freedoms. We need to get government out of the way and put individuals and family business’ back in the driver’s seat.

Places

Indiana is a unique place set squarely in the heartland of America. To many in our country it has become known as the Crossroads of America. To those who call the Hoosier state home, it is much more than a scenic route. From farm field to urban center, Hoosiers have a proud heritage of leaders, soldiers, entrepreneurs, poets, and even one U.S. President. What gives birth to such a great tradition? It starts with a commitment to the family. Society has no better center for learning and character building than the living room of the American home. With our commitment to family comes our commitment to education. Young people who are empowered through strong reading and arithmetic with the foundation of a loving home are confident citizens and a credit to their community. From the campus of Purdue to the grand Ohio River and from farm town to Capital City, this place called Indiana didn’t become the envy of the Midwest by accident. Hoosiers believe in strong families and quality education. These are the investments in our future that has made Indiana a place where people are proud. Some in our government would try to suggest more taxes or government spending is the answer to cure all social ills. I firmly believe our best future is a future built right in the heartland, a future that invests in Hoosier families, not more government. Let’s keep Indiana great.

Politics

In talking with folks all over Indiana, it seems most agree that people aren’t the problem, politicians are. Please don’t misunderstand. Most politicians go to Washington wanting to do the right thing, but somewhere along the way our public officials begin to think they work for the government not the taxpayer. Unfortunately, some have given up on the idea of honest and accountable government. However, if we dedicate ourselves to sending new leaders who will uphold the Constitution and focus on what is right for the taxpayer we can once again begin to have faith in our government and our elected leaders. Please join us today on that journey as we make an effort to elect Authentic, Conservative Leadership
